I need to apologize...
I have been fortunate enough to have written for Desiring God in the past few months. Since my particular articles were focused on how to respond to a husband's struggle with porn and lust, as well as how damaging that particular sin can be, I was shocked when I received an email that my own blog had some R-rated, sexual advertising on it.
I have since blocked several ad categories that might be the culprit, but I just want to apologize from the bottom of my heart for my carelessness. I never intended to have anything like that on my blog and would never dream of encouraging those types of industries or for anyone to see that particular content.
Thanks so much for visiting my site and reading my words. I so appreciate it and will do my best to faithfully steward this blog.

I just wanted to add that as I've been reading your blog I've noticed the ads are related to things I have searched or looked at online. I imagine that is how something inappropriate popped up. That is great if you can block things inappropriate ads but they also are most likely only showing for people who have searched inappropriate things on their devices.
ReplyDeleteThat is a valid point and one I hadn't considered! I went ahead and blocked any dating-related content, so that should help for it to not pop up at all... even on computers where that has been searched recently.
DeleteI read your article on Desiring God and it brought me so much peace during a considerable time of anxiety. I have encountered a similar situation to yours, and sometimes get caught up in the pain of it all instead of trusting God to take care of me and my relationship. Thank you for your beautiful and honest words.
